Our Footprints was hired by Telecom Holding Ltd to act as Project Manager, Owner’s Engineer and Principal Designer for a single turbine project in the Swansea Valley, South Wales.
The turbine was granted planning permission in June 2016 and Our Footprints was selected in 2017 to provide a full turn-key project management solution for the construction of the single turbine which has a maximum installed generating capacity of 500kW.
The project consisted of:
- Access tracks
- Crane base
- Wind turbine foundation
- Electrical infrastructure, connecting into the local grid
Our Footprints provided a Project Manager, Site Agent and Electrical Engineer to service the project from Pre-Construction through to commissioning. Our Footprints were responsible for the following project elements:
- Project Management
- Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Balance of plant works
- Contracts administration
- Project Control & Reporting
- Commissioning
The project followed an 18-week construction programme, and has been supplying power to the grid since June 2018.
Our Footprints showed real dedication to the Perthigwynion project, they provided just the right level of support and ensured the project ran smoothly.
Wales has an ambitious target for producing electricity from renewable sources, and Telecom Holding Ltd are pleased we chose Our Footprints to deliver Perthigwynion which is contributing to these Welsh targets.
